How to Play Powerball in Virginia

Start by selecting a total of six numbers to play for an upcoming Powerball draw. This includes five regular numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball number from 1 to 26. The Number Generator can pick these for you if you can’t decide which numbers to choose.

Tickets cost $2 per play and they can be purchased online or at a local Virginia lottery retailer. Once you have your ticket, make sure to keep it safe until the draw so you can guarantee you will receive your prize if you win. Returning players can use the ‘Play It Again’ option which allows you to instantly select the same numbers you have used in a previous draw. For an extra $1 you can add Power Play to your ticket. All you have to do is select the ‘Y’ box when it asks if you would like to add this option. This will multiply any prize you win during a game. A Power Play number of either 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 is drawn before the game and this determines how much your prize will be multiplied by. Note that this only applies to non-jackpot prizes.

Do you fancy playing in multiple upcoming draws? The ‘Multi-Draw’ section allows you to enter your numbers across consecutive Powerball draws. Select how many games you want to enter and simply wait until these draws take place. You can play up to 39 draws in a row on one ticket, or 156 draws if you play online.

You win prizes in Powerball if your numbers match up with the numbers drawn in the game you entered.
