How to Play Mega Millions in Virginia
In Virginia you can play Mega Millions locally or online. Getting started couldn't be easier. All you have to do is choose five main numbers between 1 and 70 and a Mega Ball number between 1 and 24.
In place of the Megaplier, each purchased ticket now includes a Multiplier. This means any non-jackpot prize you win will be multiplied!
You will have to purchase a ticket before 10:00 PM ET on Tuesdays and Fridays to get in with a chance to win. Each play costs $5 and you can buy multiple tickets for each draw. Get a full guide on how to play Mega Millions in Virginia below.
Select Your Numbers
Before purchasing a ticket, you will need to decide what numbers you want to play. You can decide on these numbers yourself or use our Number Generator to pick them for you. This includes five main numbers from 1 to 70 and a Mega Ball number from 1 to 24 (Your Mega Ball number can be the same as one of your main numbers).
Multiplier
When you buy a ticket, each line will be given a random multiplier. This multiplies each prize you win by either 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x. Below are the odds of each ball being drawn:
- 2X Multiplier - 1 in 2.3 chance
- 3X Multiplier - 1 in 3.2 chance
- 4X Multiplier - 1 in 8 chance
- 5X Multiplier - 1 in 16 chance
- 10X Multiplier - 1 in 32 chance
