Cash4Life Odds and Prizes
The biggest Cash4Life winners are paid out in continuous installments for the rest of their lives. If you match all five main numbers plus the Cash Ball then you will win $1,000 a day for life. Matching five numbers without the Cash Ball wins you $1,000 a week for life.
Match any less and you will still win a prize but this will be paid in a lump sum rather than in installments.
Here is the full table explaining how many numbers you must match at each prize level and the odds of winning.
Numbers Matched | Odds of Winning | Prize |
---|---|---|
5 + Cash Ball | 1 in 21,846,048 | $1,000 a day for life |
5 | 1 in 7,282,016 | $1,000 a week for life |
4 + Cash Ball | 1 in 79,440 | $2,500 |
4 | 1 in 26,480 | $500 |
3 + Cash Ball | 1 in 1,471 | $100 |
3 | 1 in 490 | $25 |
2 + Cash Ball | 1 in 83 | $10 |
2 | 1 in 28 | $4 |
1 + Cash Ball | 1 in 13 | $2 |
The top prize is paid out annually rather than in daily payments, so winners will receive $365,000 every year (even on a leap year). This has a minimum time period of 20 years which means if a winner dies before this then payments are still made to their estate.
Like many other lotteries, the jackpot is split equally if there are multiple winners. However, this is not the case for winners of the second prize where the prize is fixed no matter how many winners there are.
Winners can also choose to take the cash option which is roughly $7 million for the top prize winner and $1 million for the second prize winner.
